Aruba has a population of a little over 106,000 with a large number of people working in the tourism industry and the oil sector. This island nation has a population density of 529.5 people per square kilometer. The average population growth rate of Aruba is estimated to be at 2.7%. Standard of living in Aruba is very high when compared to other Caribbean islands and other South American countries. A very negligible percentage of the population is 100% aboriginal while 80% of the population is Mestizo, a mix of Spanish / Dutch and the local population and the remaining 20% belong to different ethnicities.
