How In-Aruba.com handles your data

In-Aruba.com is an independent travel guide about Aruba. We respect your privacy and collect as little personal data as possible. This policy explains which data is processed when you visit this website, why, and what your rights are under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Who is responsible

  • Controller: M. Kant, the Netherlands
  • E-mail: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

What data we process

Server logs

When you visit the website, our hosting server automatically logs technical data such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you request and the date and time. We use this data only to run the website securely and to fix errors (legitimate interest). Log files are deleted automatically after a limited period.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to see how visitors use the website, for example which pages are popular. Google Analytics uses cookies and processes data such as your approximate location, device and browser, and the pages you visit. We do not use this data to identify you. Where the law requires it, analytics cookies are only placed after you have given consent.

Google AdSense

This website is funded by advertisements from Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to show ads, to measure them and, with your consent, to personalise them based on your interests. Visitors from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked for their choice through a cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time via the privacy settings link in that banner, and you can manage personalised ads at Google Ad Settings. Read more in how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Flight information widget

Our arrivals and departures pages show a flight information widget from Avionio (avionio.com). When you open those pages, your browser loads the widget from Avionio's servers, so Avionio receives technical data such as your IP address.

Search

The search function on this website does not store personal data.

E-mail

If you e-mail us, we use your e-mail address and message only to answer your question. We do not keep your e-mail longer than necessary.

Forum archive

Between 2008 and 2014 In-Aruba.com had a community forum. The forum is now a read-only archive: registration and posting are closed. Posts remain visible under the username chosen by the member. The e-mail addresses of former members were removed in September 2026. If you were a member and would like your posts or account removed, please e-mail us.

Cookies

  • Necessary cookies make the website work, for example a session cookie. They do not require consent.
  • Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) help us improve the website.
  • Advertising cookies (Google AdSense and its partners) are used to show and measure ads.

You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings.

Sharing and transfers

We do not sell your personal data. Data is shared only with the service providers mentioned above (our hosting provider and Google) or when required by law. Google may process data outside the European Union; Google provides safeguards for this, such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability and to withdraw your consent at any time. To exercise these rights, e-mail This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

Changes

We may update this privacy policy. The latest version is always available on this page.
