For those of you who have been there since this happened, do you feel that it affected tourism at all? I know it's been a while, but was there any affect shortly after her disappearance?

I don't have any actual statistics, but I would think it did. I'm sure for a while at least people would have been a little leary about going there. I know I was. Now that I know that Joram is in jail in South America I feel better about going there.

My impression is that it raised awareness of the need to take care of yourself when away. I am sure that some people, especially young women, avoided the island for a time shortly after though.

With the case on Natalee Holloway's loss, I think it really created a big impact on the tourism industry in Aruba. However, we must not blame the Aruba government for that incident. Instead, we must take of ourselves and be careful when associating with strangers. Will you agree with me?
