Are there specific job types that Americans tend to go for, (like teaching English in Korea) or is it more tourism work that draw people from other countries?

I was reading the work permit materials somewhere and they have very stringent requirements for work permits for people from certain countries. But regardless of country you are from, the majority of work is in the hotel and tourist trade.
