Going along with my last thread, is there anything that is overrated or a tourist trap that I should stay away from?
Yahp, slave traders. Just don't trust anyone specially if you're drunk and someone tried to help you don't trust that person. I remember reading a case when a girl went with two guys which she probably thought was nice, you know how girl can be adventurous sometimes right? Anyway, in the end it was discovered that she was drunk and let the two guy help her out. What happened is that she was sold in a slave market. So be careful.
I think we could identify which would be a real cab or not. If it has plate number, stickers and all of those things then, I think it would be a safe cab. Just ask other people so they could help you. By the way, how would you know if it is a tourist traps?
That;s a good point. Never thought of that. Come to think of it almost all people do use cabs right?
I don't know if there would be some specific tourists trap in Aruba. The better thing we should do is to ask assistance from the authorities only. Where could be the most crowded area in the island?
It's probably the same as in any other country like making sure that your cab is a real cab and be weary of places that cater exclusively to tourists. They may want to overcharge you because you're not a local.
yeah i agree with you on that hirami..asking first how much and the likes(fare) on a certain destination(by some locals or the hotel staff)may also help ..
As far as tourist traps go, you should probably be wary of individuals that seem to be overly friendly or someone who wants to give you the "behind the scenes look" for a really cheap price. Who knows what's at the end of the "tour."
