Me, too, and I also can't help but wonder why this island wasn't claimed in the name of Spain. Spain was a very big power in terms of exploration and colonization. How did the Dutch end up controlling Aruba?

well i guess the dutch had won the war against the Spanish..and i think it was in the year 1636 when the Dutch had full control of the island
