International Racing At Its Best

The Aruba drag race facility in San Nicholas has become the premier speedway in the Caribbean. Developed by one of the NHRA’s best track designers, it is a half mile track that meets the exacting specifications of both the NHRA and IHRA organizations. Over 4,500 participants race each year. Events take place from January through November and attract more than 30,000 visitors. There are several race categories, which include cars, bikes and scooters. There are up to twenty street legal events held each year. If you are planning to participate, IHRA rules apply for minimum competition and safety standards.

This will ensure fair competition and an enjoyable race program for all participants and spectators. All vehicles must undergo a thorough inspection before being allowed to race. Inspections must be completed by a certified race technician for registration to be complete. Track sheets must be signed by the race drivers, and only one crew member is allowed past the ready line. The primary events include national drag races, national point series events, and Aruba Drag Race Foundation sponsored international events. Check with the speedway or race officials for the vehicle and participation requirements for each race. If you are planning to attend any of the races, make sure you plan accordingly.

Aruba drag race events attract drivers and enthusiasts from around the globe. Due to steady climate conditions, and the fact that it is located outside of hurricane paths, the race season lasts eleven months out of the year. May, July and October host the largest number of events. Booking accommodations and arranging for transportation in advance is recommended to ensure you are able to find space at your favorite hotel and are not inconvenienced by the lack of vehicle rental options. Most of the events take place in the evenings, which leaves you the entire day to fill with activities.

Championship golf courses provide the opportunity to improve your swing while relaxing in the cool Caribbean breeze. Challenging terrain, water features and narrow fairways bring satisfaction, and handicaps, back where they belong. The availability of tennis courts and fitness centers makes sure your exercise regimen does not become neglected while traveling. To celebrate the win by your favorite Aruba drag race driver, or console yourself at their loss, world-class casinos, fine dining and nightclubs await. Have a cocktail in the moonlight and dance under the stars until the early morning hours. Enjoy the happiness that is Aruba .

Hey, that's neat, so you do have a big drag event with a lot of participants. I hope I can get to join the race when I go there. This is one sport that's close to my heart.

I love racing, especially drag racing! I didn't realize that Aruba had any major events but I am very happy that they do! I love watching the races live. There is nothing like the rumble of racing engines!
