The best restaurants in Aruba are debated among frequent visitors, but some stand our for excellence in food preparation and presentation, and in excellent, welcoming service. There are award programs that judge these criteria, and many critical reviews of the outstanding places in this famous resort city.

Since eating is expected to be one of the memorable things about a trip to Aruba, you should take full advantage of the variety of dishes and ambiances to be found in and near the city. Dining can be entirely casual or can require a jacket for men, but never a tie. You can eat outdoors or inside, and many restaurants offer an intimate table in a softly lit room or one on the veranda or even the beach.

Known for fabulous food, from ethnic and Caribbean fare to the delights of international cuisine, Aruba has some of the best chefs in the world. Italian specialties in this exotic, tropical resort taste like home cooking to visitors from the Mediterranean, the French flair has survived the Atlantic crossing, and sushi is authentically Japanese. The spices and foods of the locality are preserved faithfully as well, or the total knowledge of the art is woven in creative ways. You can choose what will best fit the occasion.

If you are more comfortable in four diamond surroundings, the Radisson Aruba is that highly rated. Form a quick snack at the poolside bar to a full gourmet meal, the standards of excellence in kitchen and wait staff prevail. Gilligan's Beach Grill offers informal beachfront dining, by day and under the night sky. The Laguna is famous for its breakfast and dinner buffets elegantly spread beside a freshwater lagoon.

The premiere restaurant of the resort is the Sunset Grille, where 'epicurean artisans' labor over the preparation and presentation of their masterpieces. Open for evening dining from six to eleven, this award winning restaurant has every amenity. Is carried to the highest standard of excellence. On the other hand, room service comes right to your door 24 hours a day, and has a full menu from 6:30 am to 1:30 am.

If you have favorite vacation treats in mind, you will find many choices; ask for guidance at the concierge desk. The Aqua Grill has made its name with a way with fresh fish. Gasparito's Authentic Aruban Restaurant and Art Gallery is a one hundred twenty year old establishment, known for traditional fare (including filet mignon) and its displays of local art, jewelry, and historical exhibits.

Gianni's Italian Restaurant is unsurpassed for pasta, seafood, vegetables, and meats; you can eat indoors or outside. The Flying Fishbone is right on the beach, where you can watch the sun fade over the water. Smokey Joe's is for casual feasting on their famous BBQ ribs; you will want to try all the ones on the menu. Steakhouses abound in this area where the beef is world renowned.

Of course, the best restaurants in Aruba may not even recognized as such. Dedicated food fanciers can find their own favorite spot and give it the 'people's choice' award.

Just a day at the office...

Not needing a tie is one of the plus points for my husband when we vacation here. Has anyone any particular recommendations for eating on the beach?

Is there a specific beach that you have in mind or do you just mean any beach in general. There are some great places depending which beach you are on.

It was the best idea to recognizing some of those restaurants in Aruba. It would be great if we try to go there in some restaurant. This thing might be helpful as a restaurant review.

Sorry for the vague question. I would like to visit a less well known area this year, having been to Eagle beach before. Is it possible to find a good restaurant at all of them, even those off the beaten track?
