I have seen information on tennis clubs on the island but they all seem to be linked to hotels and resorts. Does anyone know of a place where you can just go and hire a court yourself?

If you like beach tennis you can go to a little bar between two hotels called the Moomba Beach Bar and they have a court. You can also rent a net to take with you to the nearby beaches.

Thanks so much for the lead. I had a look at the site and have a question. The pricing says 25, but I'm not sure if that is dollars or local money. Any ideas? Beach tennis would be a first but that's what vacations are for

We enjoy playing tennis and beach tennis sounds like it would be great exercise. Does anyone know if you can rent the rackets there or do you have to bring your own?
